Mudpuppy Puzzle Sticks solve this by reimagining the puzzle as eight chunky sticks that arrange side-by-side to form an image. The sticks stay in their storage tin, the format works on airplane tray tables and restaurant counters, and the sequencing challenge is developmentally appropriate for ages 3-6.

Three-year-olds solve with concentration; six-year-olds solve quickly. The challenge scales down naturally.
